Self-tapping screws for meshes and the Shell technique

This innovative system is designed to significantly reduce the time required for mesh fixation, offering a considerable advantage in terms of efficiency and practicality. Thanks to its advanced design, pre-drilling of the socket is not required in most cases, thereby simplifying the installation process.

This result is achieved through the special tip design, which allows for quick and precise penetration, and the extremely aggressive threading, which ensures a firm and secure grip.

The system offers a wide range of screws to meet various application needs. The screws are available in different head diameters, ranging from 3.00 mm to 4.5 mm, and in various lengths, from 3 mm to 15 mm. Additionally, two types of drive connections are available—square and cross—to ensure maximum versatility and adaptability to different fixation scenarios.

Insertion speed

Selftap screws are characterized by the ability to be inserted without the need for pre-drilling (except in very hard bone).

Prismatic tip

The tip of the Selftap screws features an extremely innovative design, allowing for easy and precise placement as well as effective drilling.

Trapezoidal thread

The trapezoidal thread of the screw ensures high retention even in soft bone. This shape helps reduce torque during screw insertion and increases stability.

Questions&Answers

NO! If the bone density is between D2 and D4, pre-drilling is not necessary. For D1 bone, however, pre-drilling is recommended.

SelfTap screws are recommended for:

• Fixation of titanium meshes, preferably using 5 mm and 7 mm screws

• Fixation of membranes, preferably using 5 mm screws

• Fixation of bone plates, preferably using 5 mm and 7 mm screws

• Fixation of bone blocks, preferably using screws from 7 mm to 13 mm

• Shell technique, preferably using screws from 10 mm to 15 mm

• Tenting technique, preferably using screws from 7 mm to 13 mm

The 1.35 mm diameter allows the screw to pass through the holes of YxOss CBR® meshes and ensures excellent screw strength.

Yes, the underside is specifically designed for precise and gentle contact. Its angle provides broad support, ensuring excellent mesh stabilization without deformation.

SelfTap screws are made of ASTM F136 certified Grade 5 titanium (TiGr5).

Yes. The trapezoidal thread shape, along with its pitch and crest height, ensures effective anchorage even in very soft bone.
